How lots of people play Runescape
Runescape is just about the oldest MMORPGs available, being available since entirely back in 2001. The game was at its peak inside mid-2000s, when there would often be at least 100,000 players online at a single time – often peaking around 250,000. Nowadays, due to player-base shifting, the action doesn’t approach anywhere near these numbers.
That being said, the experience is still a tremendously popular MMORPG, plus the player count has become heavily bolstered because of the introduction with the OldSchool version a couple of years back – basically an iteration of the sport as it was exactly in 2007. That version of the overall game is, chances are, the greater popular version of Runescape, though the updated game – now generally known as Runescape 3 – remains really popular.
At time of writing, there are always at the very least 50,000 people playing the experience at anybody time – with no less than 20,000 on Runescape 3 and 30,000 on OldSchool. This is a somewhat impressive number already, but at peak times the phone number almost doubles – with near 58,000 playing OldSchool and 35,000 on Runescape 3.
This stat was obtained via MisplacedItems, which counts the telephone number of active players every a few minutes. It might not be 100% accurate, but it’s the nearest thing we’ve had reached an actual statistic regarding how some people play the experience.
